1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores when you visit a website and sends back to the server with subsequent requests. Local storage is a comparable storage area in the browser whose contents are not automatically transmitted to the server but are read only by the application itself. Both techniques fall under § 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).
2. Legal basis
Storing information on your device is permitted without consent where it is strictly necessary for us to provide a service that you have explicitly requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). All entries listed below meet this requirement: they serve to log you in, to ensure security or to store settings that you have made yourself. We base the subsequent processing of personal data on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and user-friendly application), as applicable.

5. No third-party content or services in the browser
Fonts are served from our own server; no connections to Google Fonts or other third-party providers are established when a page is loaded. We use neither analytics services (e.g. Google Analytics) nor advertising pixels, social media plugins or embedded videos.
6. How to manage cookies and storage
You can view and delete cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings, and you can block cookies from being set. Instructions can be found in your browser's help pages (e.g. under “Privacy” or “Site data”). Please note: without the login cookie, the protected area cannot be used; after local storage has been cleared, your settings are reset to their default values.
